About the Journal
ACADEMO Revista de Investigación en Ciencias Sociales y Humanidades, is an open access journal. Its mission is to disseminate research results in the area of social sciences and humanities of the national and international scientific community.
Objectives and scope
ACADEMO specializes in the areas of Social Sciences and Humanities, is sponsored and edited by the Universidad Americana. The journal is peer-reviewed and published every four months. It is open to receive contributions from the national and international scientific community.
The journal is aimed at professionals and researchers in the branches of Philosophy, History, Sociology, Psychology, Political Sciences, Communication Sciences, Education, Business, Law and Information Sciences. It receives original articles and unpublished research products, as well as is open to receiving other significant original contributions for the specific area of the journal such as articles of analysis, and review.
Requirement of originality
The article submitted for publication, original and unpublished, must not be submitted in any other journal while the editorial process lasts. Each postulated article must be accompanied by a letter signed by the authors stating the main contribution of the work and the non-application to another journal.
License
ACADEMO is an open access journal, which means that all content is freely available at no charge to the user or their institution. Users can read, download, copy, distribute, print, search or link the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other legal purpose, without requesting prior permission from the publisher or author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access.

Publication Schedule
Expenses for presentation and / or publication of articles
ACADEMO does not charge authors any fee for submission / submission of manuscripts or fees for the publication of articles.
Code of ethics
The scientific journals of the Universidad Americana adhere to the Code of Ethics and Good Publishing Practices (COPE), available on its website http://publicationethics.org/. The Editorial Committee is committed to its compliance, at the same time providing the facilities required for both authors and reviewers to ensure the scientific quality of publications. All corrections and / or retractions that may be necessary will be treated as appropriate according to the protocol prepared by COPE.
Digital Preservation Policy
For the long-term preservation of the digital archives of the scientific journals of the Universidad Americana, the following actions are carried out:
a) Contingency in the event of possible failures, information theft or computer attacks: The Files and Databases hosted on the server contracted for this purpose (Hostinger) are automatically saved every day, up to one month ago. After a month, they are saved every week until three months ago. Likewise, after the publication of a new number, local copies are made on computers, a storage medium in the cloud other than the server (OneDrive), shared with El Informático, La editora en Jefe and one more editor for any contingency and in an external hard drive that is in the power of the manager of said platform.
b) Change of Hosting or staff rotation: Access to the Hosting System is allowed for the IT Manager of the Universidad Americana and the person in charge of the magazine platform, there is a protocol for the transfer of said privileges, where a once there is a rotation of personnel, all access passwords are changed. The Hosting contract has an automatic renewal every two years, where reminders were configured for the areas in charge of payment.
c) LOCKSS: The journals keep both licenses activated that enable the storage and distribution of magazine content in collaborating libraries through a LOCKSS Editorial Manifest.
