Resumen

A lo largo de su existencia, el ser humano siempre ha tenido la necesidad de creer en la existencia de un ente superior a él, dando origen a la religión. La definición de esta última ha ido evolucionando y con el paso del tiempo, ha despertado el interés de diversas organizaciones dispuestas a satisfacer las demandas de los consumidores (llamados fieles), ocasionando la influencia de la religión en el marketing, la cual data de fines del siglo XVIII. Dicha situación ha originado posteriormente la aparición del marketing basado en la fe, como una vertiente del marketing enfocada en la comercialización de bienes y servicios de carácter religioso, atendiendo las necesidades de este tipo de consumidor. Para el presente artículo de revisión, se ha realizado una exhaustiva búsqueda bibliográfica y tuvo como objetivo, desarrollar un marco teórico sobre el marketing basado en la fe a través del desarrollo de sus conceptos más relevantes; además, se pudo detectar la escasez de información en lengua española sobre esta temática. Se pudo concluir que la religión ejerce un rol muy importante en el comportamiento del consumidor del siglo XXI, dándole forma a los mercados globales.
